More pollution in "Buenos" Aires

Although they have made established regulations on automobile exhaust systems, Buenos Aires has had little success at curbing the level of emissions. You can often see the pollution emitted from the buses - their black, tangible fumes inescapably enter our sensitive, naked lungs.

For the last week I have been walking the streets with a handkerchief across my nose and mouth. It seemed ridiculous at the time but it greatly helped my cough subside.

Note how all the cars stay perfectly in their lanes!

I believe the lanes have been marked with a special paint that is invisible when viewed from inside an automobile.
